On Sunday, May 5th, 2024, from 11 am to 5 pm, join the Oak Cliff Bishop Arts District Cinco de Mayo Fiesta for a celebration that transcends culture and embraces the essence of Mexican heritage. Hosted by Moreno Lake Urban Redevelopment, JimLake Companies, and YUYU Cultural Shop in partnership with Historic District Events, this celebration stands as proof of the diverse array of traditions woven into the fabric of the North Texas community. In the heart of Oak Cliff Bishop Arts District, where diversity thrives and unity flourishes, be a part of history as the North Texas community comes together to honor the spirit of Cinco de Mayo in a kaleidoscope of joy and excitement.


The festivities kick off with an electrifying performance by St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic School Baile Folklórico dance team, setting the tone with their colorful costumes and dynamic movements that narrate stories of Mexican history and folklore. This powerful opening act symbolizes the unity and diversity at the heart of this celebration, inviting all to partake in the joyous festivities.


As the day unfolds, the air will be filled with the melodious tunes of the Dallas College Mariachi Leones, signaling the official start of the fiesta at noon. Prominent guests, such as Chad West, Dallas City Council member for District 1, Rick Ortiz, President and CEO of the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Rebecca Lopez from WFAA, will underscore the cultural importance of this lively celebration. Esteemed other local community leaders will also be present, highlighting the event's role in the diverse cultural landscape of Dallas, Texas.

Experience the deep, cultural vibes of Idania's soulful melodies and get swept away by the diverse range of Afro-house to Mediterranean beats presented by Elkin Pautt. The air will be alive with eclectic sounds from the skilled DJs Wonderosso and La Taina, complemented by the acoustic serenades of Juan Angel Ayala.


Dance enthusiasts will also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in an exciting Bachata class by Kumbala Dance Studio, celebrating the rich heritage of Latin dance.
